Join artist and educator Dee Clements for a hands-on introduction to the art of basket weaving. In this one-day workshop, participants will learn to weave a simple round basket using natural reed—a versatile and satisfying material for beginners.
You’ll be guided through each step of the process: beginning with the base, building up the sidewalls, exploring two foundational weaving techniques, and finishing with a decorative border or rim. This class emphasizes both skill-building and creative exploration in a relaxed, supportive environment.
All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Each participant will leave with a finished basket, as well as the knowledge and materials to continue exploring at home.
Provided Materials: Basketry reed, tools
Students Should Bring: A Bag or box to transport work and materials home in.
